“THE VALLEY OF TERRE HAUTE” JAN/FEB/MAR 2026
Secretary’s Report by Joseph F Osborn 32°
With the busy holiday season just behind us, we are looking ahead at a very busy next 3 months. We are preparing for our Spring Reunion on Saturday, March 7, 2026. The Widow’s Dinner on Sunday, March 2, 2026, and the Feast of the Pascal Lamb on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Spring Reunion 2026:
Our Membership chairman, Brother Jay Nicoson has planned a Degree watch day for Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 12:00 Noon. He will be serving a meal with the 4th Degree shown during the meal. Then several video degrees will be shown until 3:30 pm for current members interested in filling their passport. We also have a Rite on the Road scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Sullivan Lodge at 6 pm. We will be providing them with a meal and a brief discussion about the Scottish Rite. Any Blue Lodge member that chooses to join the Scottish Rite will be shown the 4th Degree at that meeting. Should any of you know a Blue Lodge member that you believe would like to know more about the Scottish Rite, email me or brother Jay Nicoson their name and phone number at office@aasrthin.org We will make sure to make contact with that individual.
Widows Dinner:
Chairman, Brother Tanner Shipman plans on having the doors open at the Cathedral at 4:30 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2026. Dinner will be served at 5:00 pm. He is planning to have a gospel group perform in the Cathedral at 6:00 pm. We will be sending out invites to all our widows. The office will be mailing out invitations in the month of January. We will be making follow-up confirmation calls closer to the event.
Feast of the Pascal Lamb:
Illustrious Brother Jack Joe Hineman, Director of the Feast, has scheduled this event for Sunday, March 29, 2026. The Cathedral will open at 2:30 pm with the event beginning at 3:00 pm. The event recognizes and honors the departed brothers that we have lost over the past year and recognizes the widows. We want the widows to know that we are here for them, that we care for them and that they are not forgotten.
CARING FOR OUR BROTHERS
IF YOU KNOW OF A BROTHER WHO IS ILL OR IN NEED OF A HELPING HAND, PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE AND MAKE US AWARE OF THE SITUATION. HELP IN ANY FORM CAN’T HAPPEN IF WE ARE NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM .
TAKE A MOMENT TO REMEMBER
PLEASE TAKE JUST A MOMENT TO REMEMBER. CONSIDER ALL THOSE THAT BRING SUNSHINE INTO YOUR LIFE, WHO MAKE YOUR DAY A GOOD TIME AND THE EFFORTS OF YOUR WORK WORTHWHILE. THINK OF ALL THOSE WHO STAND IN OUR DEFENSE, MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO ENJOY CASUALLY THE FREEDOM THAT THEY PROTECT. REMEMBER THOSE LESS FORTUNATE, WHOSE LIVES ARE MORE DIFFICULT THAN WE COULD IMAGINE BECAUSE OF ISSUES BEYOND THEIR CONTROL. REMEMBER THOSE WHO’S HEALTH IS BROKEN, WHO WOULD BE THRILLED TO HAVE ONLY A COUGH, COLD AND FEVER TO DEAL WITH. REMEMBER TO GIVE THANKS, FOR ALL WE ENJOY, FOR ALL WE TAKE FOR GRANTED, FOR ALL THAT WE ARE BLESSED WITH EVERY DAY. YESTERDAY IS THE PAST, TOMORROW IS THE FUTURE, TODAY IS A PRESENT.
LET’S REMEMBER THAT AND APPRECIATE THE DAYS AS THEY GO BY.
SO MOTE IT BE.

PIZZA AND A MOVIE WITH SANTA
We had three children attend, the weather was bad and the turnout was not as good as we hoped. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the movie and pizza and visiting with Santa. We will be doing it again next year with some changes, put the date on your calendar, second Saturday in December which is the 12th hope to see you there.
