February 2026 Update
February Meeting Canceled;
Traditionally the Valley of Terre Haute cancels the February meeting. Keeping with tradition we have canceled the February 11th Stated Meeting. The officers and their guest will meet February 11th at 6:00 PM at the Dawg Leg in Idle Creek. This will be our Valentine’s Day get together. The Valley has taken care of the event space fee. You will order off a menu at your expense. Ordering will begin at 6:30. I will need to provide the Dawg Leg with a count of how many will be attending. Officers attire is business casual, all others dressy as desired. Should you like to join us please contact the Valley office at 812-234-3761 or e-mail us at office@aasrthin.org by February 9th so we can include you on the list.
Widows Dinner:
Due to a scheduling conflict, we rescheduled the widow’s dinner for Sunday April 19th at 12 noon. The meal will be served at 12:30 PM with a brief program following the dinner. At 2:00 PM the Kings IV gospel group will perform in the cathedral. More information and details will be provided in the March update.
Rite on the Road:
The membership chairman Jay Nicoson has scheduled a Rite on the Road at Sullivan Lodge #263 for February 17th at 6:30 PM. The Valley of Terre Haute will provide a porkchop, potato salad, an applesauce meal for those who attend. After the meal a brief presentation will be made about the Scottish Rite. Those interested in becoming a Scottish Rite Mason will have the ability to pay an initiation fee, watch the 4th degree and become a member that evening. If you know a Mason in that area that has expressed an interest in the Scottish Rite have him go to the Sullvan Lodge #263 at 23 E Jackson St., Sullivan, IN 47882 on February 17th to enjoy a great meal, great fellowship, and learn about the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute.
Abbott Scholarship:
The Valley is now accepting applications for the Abbott scholarship. The application and guidelines for the scholarship can be found on the Valley of Terre Haute website at aasrth.org. The scholarship committee has set Thursday, March 26 at 3:00 PM as the deadline to have your application to be back to the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute office. The application can be mailed to 8930 E US Hwy 40, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803, or it can be emailed to office@aasrthin.org attention Scholarship Committee.
